Kalis the Ball Python

Post by Pareeeee on Wed Sep 12, 2012 10:07 am

Here is Kalis my Ball Python. He is very tiny,100g, but has doubled in size since I bought him. I think the breeder lied about his age when I originally bought him, instead of having been 3wks old, I now am almost convinced he was a hatchling. He is now over a month old and eating like a pig!

He may be the coolest normal/wild phase I have seen!

Thanks! I think he maybe had some pastel siblings, you can see that pretty 'wash out' fading down to his belly. I don't think the breeder bred normals on purpose, they just crop up in a clutch now and then. Is probably why he was selling them off so cheap.

Kalis also has some nice blushing in some of the dark brown/black sections of his markings. I hope they will become more pronounced as he ages!

Kalis just shed again, he was 150g last time I weighed him, I will weigh him again tomorrow, I wager he is around 200g now.

Also, he is such a pig for a BP! Such a breeze to feed. Hope he keeps this up! He is now on fresh killed mice, soon to be frozen, then on to frozen rat pups.

He ate yesterday after his shed, in a separate tub for the first time! That meant that I could change his substrate from boring paper towels to carefresh, I think he feels safer with more 'cover' in his tub. Whenever I get out to the pet store I will be switching both snakes to aspen.
